Year 11 GCSE Readiness Programmes

Consistent small-group support and exam confidence, right through to GCSEs.

What is the GCSE Readiness Programme?

This programme is designed to give your child the best chance of success in their GCSEs. Rather than short bursts of last-minute revision, it provides steady, consistent support throughout Year 11.

Each week builds skills, knowledge, and confidence. By exam time, your child will feel fully prepared, supported, and equipped to perform at their best.

How it works

  • Students can be enrolled in English Literature, English Language, or both.

  • Each course runs as a weekly online small-group session (60 minutes, max 4 students).

  • Both courses are designed to run from September 2025 right through to the GCSE exams in summer 2026.

  • English Literature covers the full AQA set texts: A Christmas Carol, Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, and the Power & Conflict poetry cluster. (Students studying other texts can form a separate small group of 2-4 students or opt for 1-to-1 tuition tailored to their texts)

  • English Language builds skills across both Paper 1 and Paper 2, with regular practice in reading, analysis, and extended writing.

  • Students are encouraged to commit to their chosen course(s) throughout Year 11, giving them consistent support all the way to their exams.

Why choose this programme?

  • Consistent guidance right through to exams.

  • Small groups mean individual attention while keeping costs manageable and encouraging engagement, mutual support and confidence-building in a collaborative environment.

  • Hybrid, holistic support - academic progress and emotional wellbeing go hand in hand.

  • Accountability and community - students see they’re not alone, and make progress together.

  • Structured, syllabus-informed approach that removes the stress of “where do I start?”

Outcomes you can expect

By commiting to the programme, your child will:

  • Secure a strong understanding of the set texts.

  • Develop exam strategies that work across Language and Literature papers.

  • Learn to write clear, structured, exam-ready essays.

  • Build confidence and resilience to manage exam stress.
